Jim
Can you Sticky this for right now?

WA & all Members of "The American Lifan Forum"

Yes the forum is down {has been for 2-3 days} as are all "old" American Lifan Sites for the public & dealers. Lifan in in the process of changing servers and has a new web designer. I have talked to the New sales manager in length about this... I told him we need the forum back up ASAP. He told me he needs some code that I have no access to, as I didn't build the forum, Shawn did. The web server should be able to transfer everything but I guess coding is important??? I'm not sure. The funny thing is when I was talking to the new sales manager he told me David said "The forum hadn't been used in some months" I advised him differently as we all know better. If need be I will send a link to this post to the sales manager to Prove the forum is active.....

As you know I don't have control over this as I'm only a Dealer of Lifan products. I was the only Administrator left taking of the forum after Shawn left A. L. Shawn & I where the only administrators for the forum period. David the Tech Rep. was, but he was removed from that area due to an issue that happened with banning & adding new forum members to the wrong areas.

I can only tell you what I have been told...
American Lifan {The Distributor} has been making some changes again, {per Joe The new sales manager}. There is now a TX & CA office. New people have been added for sales, parts etc. A new web site is being built by A. Lifan as I speak. The offices & parts dept. are smaller in TX & there are new offices in CA & some of the parts are being moved to CA.

I will let all know more as I find out.
I hope to be talking to A. Lifan on Monday...

One thing I will ask is that anyone that used the forum make a post here.

I would drop in every few months. Mainly to contact Bruce. Otherwise this in my home.

This forum is by far the most active community for North American Chinariders.

Perhaps we'll meet some more friends.... :D

I liked to pop in on occasion and see what was going on.

Wild_Alaskan 01-29-2011 01:33 PM

I go there about weekly, I also have those pictures of the harness you guys wanted up there, but since it went down when i went to post them i sent them to the AL support email yesterday. I could post them in a thread here if you would like, let me know.

WA

Send them to this address... picturesejc@sbcglobal.net

I set this up just & only for this purpose, to receive pictures of parts, vehicles etc. You'll get a reply saying I don't respond from this address & I don't, but @ least I can see what you have. Other than that I can['t say...

Wild_Alaskan 01-29-2011 02:16 PM

ok i forwarded you the email I sent to AL. let me know what you come up with.

yellowxj 01-29-2011 04:02 PM

Hi yellowxj

Did you check your Spam list/box?

I ask because I know you where approved, I approved you. You signed up on Dec. 08, 2010, I approved you within a few days after that. I always keep the e~mail that the forum sends for New users. Also you are/where still on the Member list the last time I could get on the forum & I added you to the post of approved members.

It does take a bit because I check everything I can, due to the amount of spammers that try to get on.

huh...maybe...I lost my 3 old desk top computers Dec and Jan...weird that 3 six year old puters would die three differents deaths...did I miss anything on the AL forum?

ejcycles 02-01-2011 08:34 AM

That's tough to say... I saw your posts here, but I don't intrude when folks ask questions & they are being helped. You bought a GY5 for a good price and did the repairs as you liked as many have done over the years... Like any motorcycle, scooter or atv when there are parts missing you don't always have to use stock OEM parts. But then there are times you need stock OEM parts also.

Another member joined after you "Hammer", he asked a lot of questions about the 200(III) he bought. I answered every question as David {AL Tech Rep} answered a couple. He also found another site Chinamoto.com {street version site} made by Almon P. He asked some questions there that he ask @ AL Forum, I didn't answer then because I already had. He had folks from that site answer most of his questions.

Yes I'm a member there also, but as I do here I keep to myself unless I see something incorrect or I can help where others don't know. I'll correct as nicely as possible & help the same way.

Good luck with the bike... :)
