SW England to North of Scotland on 125cc

Started getting some kit together etc and reading more into it, but planning a two week(give or take) trip to travel up through England and on into Scotland through the highlands and maybe visit a few of the islands that I haven't already. As some of you may know I have a little Lexmoto LSM 125 supermoto style bike, getting some throw-over soft panniers tomorrow which I have already tried for size and are fine. Wired up a 12v cigarette adapted so that I can change and use my iPhone as my sat nav for the journey along with a waterproof handle bar mount :) I'm planning to go as light as possible for obvious reasons so will be camping wild a lot hopefully, especially up in the highlands! On the way up I will be stopping in Cheltenham and Leeds where I have friends at university so I can get a bed/settee and a shower. I'll try and keep this updated and take plenty of pictures!

This is the little beast that'll hopefully get me there and back!

I'm really envious! Good for you for taking advantage of the beautiful countryside that the UK has to offer. Please take many pics on your jouney to share with us. :D

Thank you! Well I've been laid off from work but am due to start my basic training for the Army in 5 weeks time and I have a little spare money so thought I'm better off travelling a bit while I have the chance! Plus if I don't I'll only sit around and be lazy! I'd love a gopro cam or something but can't really afford one so I'll just take my camera with me and make sure to stop often (no doubt I'll get a very numb bum anyway!)

I bought a cheap handlebar camera mount of eBay for that reason. It has the typical threaded stud that will accept any camera, so you can easily mount a cheap digi cam with a fat memory card. You can also see the viewer, so it's easy to confirm that you're not filming the sky or the ditch.

Very good idea, however I only have my iPhone 4S or my DSLR which for obvious reasons I wouldn't mount ;)

Loaded the bike up today for a little test and it all fits perfectly and still rides comfortably, if not comfier due to having a big sleeping bag as a back rest!

Here's a couple of pictures for you guys..

This last picture is taken with the sleeping bag and tent wrapped in the dry bag which is what I'll do on the actual journey. I've also got a neat waterproof handlebar mount for my iphone which allows me to charge still through my 12v adapter tied to the bars and use the touch screen etc. So I'll be using Navfree which is a great little free satnav app :) Very excited

Your bike looks well equipped for the journey. Looking forward to more pics! BTW, you should be able to pick up a cheap used digi cam for peanuts.

Your Lexmoto looks great, even loaded with all the luggage. :) Thanks for telling us about your planned trip, and thanks for posting the nice photos! Please take many photographs, and start a new thread in our Ride Reports Forum after you begin your trip. :D

Spud :)

Well I haven't been on this site for a long old time now..

The trip went brilliantly thanks, the bike was fine apart from getting some water in the tank. I used soft luggage system and a tent. It was a pleasure riding the A and B roads to be perfectly honest.

Any questions just ask :)

I'm glad your trip went well, Toby. Thanks for checking in! :)

I also enjoy traveling the secondary and tertiary roads much more than traveling the primary roads. ;)
