hensim valve noise

i recently picked up a hensim 250cc dual sport. it runs like a champ minus some noisy valves. attached is a video, is this normal? i know there are some threads on here that say noisy valves are just part of the china bike sound http://youtu.be/Nbnb6bHz_sg

Welcome; we are glad you joined us. :hi:

If you just acquired the bike, I suggest you check the valve lash; it's not a difficult job. ;)

Welcome, PNW'er! I live about 45 minutes North of Bellingham. You live in a beautiful area.

Spud is right, as usual. Setting valves is not difficult. You have the coveted OHC version of the Honda clones.

@fastrs2.5
Sounds very loud. Does it still have the air filter box?

@Spudrider
THanks for bringing that link up. I might try that one of these days. Too bad the pics are gone.

so i made an attempt to adjust the valves following guide; its a whole quieter now but i don't know if it right or just better. the bike still runs good. how do i know if its perfect is there a way to tell? i think i did a good job.

If the valves were really noisy before, they were too loose. Adjusting them properly would give you a little more power, and probably easier starting.
