Been awhile...

Its been quite some time since i have posted here. Been busy with work and life. I bought a 2009 ZX6R, been riding that mostly. Its been a great winter here in Cali so far 60-70 degrees. I am still have my DBO7A and am more interested now in prepping it for its original purpose in the dirt (currently has street tires). I was curious about your thoughts on some dual sport tires. I have been looking at shinko 244, as they are cheap and reviews seem to be good. I was curious on everyone's thoughts and input.

Welcome back.

Very nice bike.

The ZX6R strikes an excellent balance between price/performance/comfort. Great choice!

As I have said before, you live in one of the best places in the world for street riding.

Except for the traffic.

And the CHP.

And the degraded roads from deferred maintenance.

Other than that I remain jealous :-)

Go hit up Highway 9 through Big Basin and report back ;-)

Every weekend consists of riding the Santa Cruz mountains. I live at the base of them on the peninsula side. I don't ride it around the street to many variables. Today heading pescadero for lunch and around.

My dad and I rode 9 and big basin last weekend. It was awesome. Perfect weather and conditions.

The Shinko 244 tires are pretty good, unless you ride in any mud, then they are worthless. However, the SR244 tires work pretty well in all kinds of dry terrain, including the pavement. ;)

I would say the Shinkos, too...not because I am familiar with them, but the whole point of Chinese bikes is 'cheap' but does the job. That is why mellow trail riding was about the extent of these bikes, so Shinkos would probably get you wherever you want to go and back.
