Hawk running again but still no wheelies!

After my stator went out during tuning and i got a new one installed, then dealt with a fried battery, I finally got it running. With the decat I am running a 32.5 pilot and the bike is idling nicely and runs good, no bogging or anything. I also swapped the plug for the nkg iriduim but I am still not able to power wheelie in first like some of you others can. I have the new jt chain and stock sprockets. 4th clip down from top. I just don't get it why I need won't. It seems like it just doesn't have that little bit of power. I have a sport bike so I known how to power wheeling that no problem but this just wont come up no matter what.

what sprockets are you running on ... if you have geared higher, that would be my guess ... if you are not using the supper low gearing, it is not going to power up ... it will need to be clutched up

How many miles on it?

Keep tryin man, did you try the 25 pilot? Im at 25 and 110.

So this isn't going to power up like a superbike. I have to adjust my.seating to the back a little then crank the throttle and it will go up. Back in my 2 stroke days I would have to sit on the gas tank otherwise it would come up when I didn't want it to when the power band kicked in.

Has 800 miles. Stock sprockets. 32.5 pilot,
112.5 main. 4th clip down from top. De-catted exhaust. Nkg iriduim plug.

i thought the hawk came with no cat ... always learning about these bikes ... not sure why it will not power up then, i know my storm has to be clutched up, but it came with 17/45 sprockets ... is it spinning the back wheel? are you trying it in the dirt or on the road?

800 miles should be good. Have you checked if your running rich?

I edited my last post, i actually have a 112.5 and i jut did a plug chop. It does look good but may be a tiny bit too rich. I am going to swap to the 110. I also notice my top end power is not where it use to be..can barely make it past 50mph. Use to be able to get up to 60 easy with the stock carb.

I spent weeks troubleshooting performance issues thinking it was the carb or electronics. Turns out I did the valve adjustment wrong. Its easy enough on the hawk and probably worth a double check.

No spin on the back wheel. Street. I can only clutch up wheelies for now.

Ditto. I checked my valve clearance. Had to tighten the intake side, exhaust side was perfect.

clutch it up!!! I've got a 17t front sprocket and stock rear. it'll come up. you just have to clutch it up. cover your rear brake and start with a low rpm.. good luck. be safe
