Harbor freight mini trailer for hualing bikes
Not necessarily CB related, but I know if you folks like Chinese bikes then you're probably also A-OK with Chinese trailers (AKA Harbor Freight Haulmasters)!
I put together an album for the mini trailer kit I built recently for hauling bikes: http://imgur.com/a/nDJa5 The model in the photos is my KTM, but I also plan on reconfiguring so I can haul both the KTM and my Hawk 250 out to the track or trail riding areas with my buddy. I opted for the mini trailer rather than Harbor Freight's larger offerings due to room, I wanted to be able to fit it in a tiny cramped garage or pick it up and put it in the backyard. It also will work well for towing behind my little Saturn if need be. Just wanted to throw this out there in case anyone has been considering one. The whole project cost around $230-240, I was mostly just sick of taking my truck topper off and on again, especially now that it's winter and I want to keep it on all the time. |
Looks good. If all I had was my Hawk I would do the same. But I have 3 vehicles to carry. My only suggestion would be to put a running light on the 2x12 at the rear for those tail gaters at night.

Nice idea!
Wow....yours is way more functional than my version of the same trailer.
I had this grand idea of giving my cart a break for the bigger stuff (boulders, stumps) and then also getting involved with the tourist trap up the street (Daffodil Hill) and maybe hauling some kids around so I built the removable gates....but then some plans never come to fruition. The trailer isn't used much. I may go your route! Thanks! |
Man, that is a great job and at the right price. Just keep an eye on those tiny wheels and tires spinning 40 bazillion rpm back there.

no pics of mine. I bought an old used worn out trailer for 100 bucks about 5 years ago. I put a new hf axle, hubs and wheels on it. I would suggest at least going to the 12 inch wheels when you can. they are rated for higher speeds. I towed mine from NC to colorado last year and didnt miss a beat.
