How bad of a drowning are we talking? Bent rod? Crank damage?

If the engine did not bend the rod then it should be useable. If however it just sat for a long time with water in it then all bets are off. Last time i dealt with a waterlogged bike you need to change the oil several times as water gets trapped in small nooks and crannies throughout the engine .

If you are considering bringing an engine or engines why not look into a CG300 version which was mentioned in another thread. If you could get the engines and sell them for $600 or less i would consider buying one.

I'm fairly certain the CG300 engines aren't yet being imported into the US, and we don't really know much until it is in someone's hands on here (so it's possible bolt patterns are changed, etc. ), so I'd hold off on trying to import one until someone finds a way, you're probably sending him down a rabbit hole.

Good advice. Maybe now is not the time to be Alice in wonderland. There is a used engine in the parts for sale section, Maybe that would get you back on the road.

Pictures didn't work. Can you link them from an external site? I've not managed to see too many exploded CG motors.

If you were in South America i would say, repair it. Parts are cheap, but in the US i think it will be cheaper and faster to just get a new engine.
