New Bike: Transmission Chirping / Grinding on Decleration

I just got a Hawk 250. Went throught it before is even started it. Exhaust, Nibbi 28mm carb, opened airbox, valvoline oil..... Got it running great. Less than 500 miles on it and it started making a chirping noise when i let the clutch out upon deceleration. Noise progressed to louder metal on metal chirp / grind noise that doesn't associate itself with transmission longevity. It even chirps / grinds when i back off the throttle abruptly. Sounds like it comes from the magneto side of the motor, not the clutch side, but this doesn't make much sense to me. Any ideas? Thanks, in advance.

Sounded like it was coming from the front of the motor... but in retrospect, i bet the 520 chain was getting loose for the first time and making contact by the front sprocket. There wasn't much clearance for it there. I will check it tonight, but i bet that is it.

That was the first thing that crossed my mind.
