Paladin 300 Leaking Fuel Tank
 

I’ve been having an issue with leaking fuel from the time I purchased the bike and I believe the leak has gotten progressively worse. I finally went out and got the bike plated and now this leak is causing me to have to wait to really go out and enjoy riding it. I believe the culprit is the underside penetration for the fuel pump. It’s leaking pretty freaking bad now. I’ve reached out to PSM with the requested photos so let’s see what solution they come up with.

Is that some sort of a gasket between the tank and pump?

The tank is leaking because they use a gasket and some kind of white sealant that isn't designed to work with fuel and it's additives.

Scrape all of the white crap off, don't damage the gasket and then reinstall with either of those products. I used the EZ turn when replacing my fuel pump, no leaks and I have used it on plenty of carb bowls to stop old gaskets from leaking.

I used this stuff after removing my fuel pump for testing. Drain the tank, remove the pump and clean the area at the seal (tank) and the mating surface on the fuel pump completely. Apply a thin layer, let it dry for about 1 minute, and reinstall the pump. Do NOT overtighten those screws. They go into plastic (the tank). Just make them snug and another 1/8th turn. THis stuff needs NO GASKET (mine had no gasket, and I used no gasket to reinstall). If it has a gasket and you can rescue it, fine, but it may cause leak again if it is damaged.

Earlier this week I ordered some special oil/gas resistant sealant that should arrive from Amazon Sunday. I reached out to PSM and they basically said the same thing both of you guys said. I tried snugging up the bolts in the mean time and..... snap. I barely touched it, maybe the corrosive fuel made the plastic more brittle. Any advice? (It is now leaking much worse). Im waiting for PSM to come back with a solution.

If the plastic snapped, and you cant get a replacement, I would patch the plastic with jbweld. Sand the area around the area you broke. Mix the jbweld. Use a bit at a time, you can always do another coat, but a big gob where it shouldnt be will be a headache.
