Hi-Bird 250cc-IIA
 

I just ordered a yellow HI-Bird 250cc-IIA from V-Bike.us. I looked for a while and couldn't find even a decent used bike for the price of this one ($1,250). Tim took my order and said that everything should be delivered this coming week.

This is going to be my 'learn to ride' bike, if I find that I like riding, I plan on buying a HD next spring.

Hello and welcome and congrates on your new purchase.Please keep us posted with you endeavers.It looks like it will be aa great starter bike.There are a couple of members who have recantly purchased that bike.They seem to be happy with it.

Looks like a cool bike, seems to be more of a standard than a cruiser type. It may be a bit trickier with the rake and trail shorter than a harley davidson, but it will be a great learning tool for sure.

I think it's a great first bike. I'm glad I didn't spend a mint on my first bike, because after riding a while I discovered that why I wanted a bike had changed. I wanted something to get me to the store for smokes and back. By the end of the season I was going on some very long rides, too long for a 150cc chinabike. :D

That bike will be much easier to handle come test time than a harley.

I took mine a 750 shadow.

That was my feeling too. I want a HD Sportster and I almost bought one, but common sense won out (for once!). It should be here this week...I plan to get it put together and ride around the house for a few weeks, then I'll take the safety course.

After riding the china bike for awhile you may change your mind on what bike you want next.

I am thinking that I want a big scooter next. I am getting over the dual sport bug.

Yea, I thought I wanted a dual sport too, but after sitting on a Yamaha 200 D/S, they're just too uncomfortable for extended riding. Or maybe my rear is too big :)

Those big cushy scooter seats are so tempting.

I am getting the urge to go to the kymco dealer right now.

I like the upright position of the DS bikes. I'm old I guess. DRX400 SM would have all the power I'd ever need and the riding position for long haul rides. Too bad about the price. :cry:

The wife tells me I'm stuck with what I've got now, :lol: But my next bike wouldn't be a Hog. I'd need a car jack if it ever fell over.

The Hi-Bird was just delivered...everything looks good so far. Ordered from V-Bike on Saturday & delivered Thursday.

I just bought that same bike from vbike.us I put it together this past weekend and I've got about 40 miles on it so far. Initial impressions are pretty good: Here's my observations so far:
1. power is what I would expect from a 250cc
2. it's geared pretty low
3. top speed is 60 mph (I'm 240lbs)
4. the tac shows a redline of 12.5k rpm...it's about wound out @ 6k rpm.
5. the shifter is WAY to short for a size 12 foot...I plan to extend it soon.
6. the brakes aren't the greatest, but adequate
7. the tires are super skinny

It was easy to put together and tune.

What size wheels and tires does it have?

Rear Tires 3.25-18''

And another slightly annoying thing is that it beeps when the blinkers are applied.
