A few Problems???
 

I have a couple of problems, Im not sure if its normal but my bike idle was at around 1200 rpm , I got 10mph out of it at 4000-4500 rpm???
Seems way to high......anyways I adjusted the idle screw between 1400-1800 rpm at idle, it ran a little faster about 15 mph at same rpm....the other thing Im not sure how it could be related but my steering seems alot stiffer???
I set the idle back to 1200rpm and steering is still stiff, if anyone knows anything help would be appreciated..the bike is a Huansong Viva vx200s!

I'm not sure if I understand your question completely but it sounds like your throttle cable is being pinched, pulled, or some how tangled up and not allowing your throttle to completely close and not allowing your steering to rotate freely.

Well I thought there was a rubber band to keep grease from the bearings from leaking, but it turns out it was just dried up grease....I cleaned it up and steering is better...needs some more scraping and lube though......

I'm not sure I understand this one BUT...............


the only two common ways for road speed to vary with revs are
1. different gear selected
2. the clutch is slipping

I would check the clutch cable - that may be the one mucking up the steering also.

I don't know how idle is affecting road speed?????????
I was going to say something like, release the clutch next time you're on the road :lol:

Or, are you sure you weren't in 2nd gear... That's how you go faster at the same RPM. :P :P :P

well Im not too familiar with all the mechanical terminology but as is above my minimum engine speed was 1200rpm, at 10mph the engine speed was around 4500-5000rpm...I dont know maybe that makes no sense..:)


Generally I would expect rpm to drop after changing to a higher gear.my bike was not.probs fixed for now.thanks dudes! :P

But will changing the idle speed, affect the speed of the bike at any given RPM?
