Tach issues...
When going to start my LF200 GY this morning I noticed that my tach was stuck at 2. Can I just open the cluster housing and push it back down?
I can listen to the idle and pretty much tell where I am on rpm... |
OK it is now stuck on 6...WTF. Anyone know how to fix this?

I've never had this problem, but it sounds like you might have a cable driven tach. Again I'm not sure. I think there are a couple people on this forum who have cable driven ones. You may just be able to remove the cable and let the tach return to normal and reinstall the cable.

You didn't mention what year bike you have!
If you have an electronic tach, The CDI drives the coil and tach. I would assume the CDI connector is good, if your bike is getting good spark from the coil. That leaves the connector under the headlamp fairing. Look for a Black/Yellow wire in the connector, and inspect it for tightness of fit. Also, Make sure you get battery voltage at the Black wire, and good continuity to ground on the Green wire at the same connector. Good luck, Brother, Tigertamer |
