Kawaski KLR 250

I picked up a 2005 Klr 250 with 857mi for $2,200. the bike is mint. Its a step up from the 2007 DR 200 I picked up back in June. I will still keep the Roketa as it has been running so good these last few months. The DR 200 Still beats them all averaging 86 mpg with a 2.65 final ratio, to the Roketas 62mpg with a final ratio 2.67 and the KLR at 74 mpg with a 2.93 ratio and the only 6-speed in the group.

Congrats :D Very nice bikes. How does she compare speed wise to the DR?

The DR200 performs very good now after the 39T rear sprocket install and the highway rpms are much lower. It still has good low end power in the trails. Im going to change to a 16T from a 15T front sproket on the KLR. This will take me from a 2.93 final ratio to around a 2.75 ratio according to the JT sprocket guide chart. This is the easy way to do it without cutting the chain and changing the rear sprocket. Right now the KLR is 48mph on the speedo at 5000 rpm in 6th gear. Actual speed is about 44mph on gps. Side by side race on the street with my son at 135 lbs on the DR and me on the KLR at 205 lbs the KLR pulled on the DR by a good few bike lengths with its current gearing.
