Bike Porn: The New Q
I decided to break it in in the dirt. 200 km so far. It really handles great! even in the deep desert dust it was easy to manage. Gravel and dirt roads were fine, and about 10 miles of pavement were a pleasure. Nice little bike!
I gave it one good wash so I could take the "new bike" pics. I don't expect it to be this clean again. 8) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e/DSC05237.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e/DSC05238.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...DSC05240-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e/DSC05241.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e/DSC05245.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e/DSC05239.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e/DSC05235.jpg |
looks as though you have beautiful country to play in, the bike looks great too, very well built, but expected no less from the q link as they are top of the chinese heap, so to speak no pun intended. after looking i wonder if the rims from the qlink are the answer to the zong wheel saga

Nice looking bike.

Thanks guys :D .
The hills you see behind my yard in the pics are where I usually ride. |
Phil, It's funny you mention 'top of the heap'
The guy I sold my humble HSUN to also has a DR200 that his wife rides. That bike is an '09 and he listed a pretty long list of problems he'd had with it, and the difficulty he'd had getting the dealer to take care of it. He was PLEASED with the way the HSUN ran compared to his Suzuki! Go figure. |

That's a nice bike. I almost bought a Qlink last Febuary but at the last moment went with a 1999 DR 650 that was in mint condition instead. I'm happy with the DR650 because the bike can out run most cars from 0-100mph which makes freeway travel nice, but it's a big bike off road and I don't have near the confidence to scramble up steep trails or cross deep ruts on it. Anyway I hope you enjoy your bike, looks nice.

Funny You mention the DR, I stuck on how much that that motor resembles to the one on my DR.

I like the way that bike looks.

It rides well too. It suits my modest trail riding needs well. I did 30 miles off road on it yesterday after work. About 1/2 singletrack, some of in deep sand/dust, and the rest on rocky 'road' Rattled my fillings but the bike did great!

Hey all,
Hey Fastdoc, nice lookin bike you got there!! *drool* So nice it has inspired me to get one of my own. (not kidding!!) :) It looks like I will be picking up an XP200 tomorrow from a local Qlink dealer now.... :) They have one black 2008 XP200 left, brand new, for $1699 closeout as per Qlink's website. So that plus tax, title, license, etc, should get me into an XP200 by tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait I'm scouring the Internet like mad (for the past few days now and esp. today) looking for pics, vids, problems, solutions, tips, tricks, etc... :) Any ideas you can share to a novice XP200 owner, I'd appreciate it. There seems to be an overall lack of information right now as it is a less-known about product vs. that of say Lifan/GY. I found a TON of stuff on issues relating to them, but anyways, I think I will plan to inspect every possible nut/bolt/screw when I get it home tomorrow night. Just in case. It is of course already pre-assembled and ready to roll @ the dealer, but I don't trust them 100% with my life either. :) |
Excellent. Between here and mychinomoto.com you will get all the info you need. The QLink website is pretty good also.
Think of it as a Japanese CB. Quality control is on par with the Suzuki it really is. That said, Suzuki's need going over when new as well. This is my second Q. The first was an XF200 I rode for 4,500 miles in a few mnths, and sold to a friend who rides it a lot. I replaced a taillight bulb, changed the oil and adjusted the chain. That's it. Really. 2 year warantee, and a brick and mortar dealer with a pulse. The first oil change is at 500 km. The break in procedure takes forever but I'd adhere to it pretty well to be on the safe side. As I understsand it the Q and the Suzuki are made by the same manufacturer, Quinque or something like that. I can't wait for you to get the bike, I'm excited for you. It's almost unfair to the Japanese bike buyers what we pay for these things, but I'll get over it. |
It truly looks just as good as the DR, I bet she'll last forvever if cared for.

Yeah I almost went for one of those Lifan or otherwise GY knock off imports. I'm really glad I finally discovered this post and learned about this bike. I was sold.
For mere pennies more, it comes with a 2-yr warranty and I guess assembled in Grapevine, TX, 3 hours from my house, with dealers nearby, it was just too good to be true. Still is really. :) In fact, my buddy came over yesterday and is instantly hooked too now. I worry for him that he must be thinking that *I* am blowing smoke up his ass with this kind of deal. $1699 is just rediculous for a 2008 brand new closeout, even $2299 full price for an 09 would still be a steal! I will post pics once I get home... FYI, this is what she will make the trek home in. I haven't ridden in too long and the dealer is like an hour away via highways... http://www.cabelas.com/p-0025772521530a.shtml What do y'all use to transport if need be? I don't have a pickup, got a Jeep JK. Thanks! |
