Getting a new GIO X33 !

I'm starting a new thread as I will be getting a new GIO X33 this week.

So garage is starting to get full with 2 GIO 125cc and now the X33!

Again I will post picture of the assembly!
I will be taking a day off on Dec6th and I will go for a ride with the new bike. Probably in the snow !

I also already order Michelin MS2 Starcross tires for the X33 and the 125!

Alex

Excellent! I hope you get many miles out of it. Looking forward to pics.

Out of the box, packaging seems better than GIO 125cc

Everything is in one box instead of two boxes.

Quick review, everything is better quality than the GIO 125cc. Fasteners seems to be better quality, plastics seems solid, the tires seems way better than GIO 125cc but I do have Michelin MS2 coming in.
There is less parts to assemble also. (Front fender, front wheel, handle bar, side plastic, lower bolt of rear shock, shifter.)

One downside (maybe im dumb), is that i'm not able to remove the air filter without removing the fuel on/off petcock. So oiling your airfilter is not as easy as on the GIO 125cc.

Sorry, all I can see is a sweet Camaro. :D

Is there anything else in the way of the filter? On my son's 125, I had to move the coil to the other side of the bracket. Would that help?

Great looking bike :)

The bike does look good. I think *I* might break it though. :P

..but I did enjoy the video they had made of that when they first brough it out. It looks like a better machine than they orginally had.

I didnt really check for option, I went for the obvious, and unbolt the fuel switch and put it back after I was done. But ill look into it later.

Yeah, but I bet you can speak French, and chicks dig that.

That is a sweet bike, and it's better than the 125 we had in many ways. Is the engine on the X33 a 140? What are your first impressions about the power?

Yeah some chicks dig the french accent... but when I travel outside of QC :)

back to main topic, it is the 140cc engine on my X33. My feeling about the power is that it has more low end torque but if you look at HP/Weight ratio the 125cc has a ratio of 0.06HP/Lbs and the 140cc 0.055HP/Lbs, therefore on paper the 125cc seems faster. But using my butt has a dyno the 140cc is a bit faster but it is the lowend torque that seems way better.

Again the X33 overall quality is way better than the 125cc, but I feel that the 125cc is really a fun pit bike and the X33 is moving up toward dirt bike/motocross area. Not a competition bike by any mean but you get my point.

Does that mean that your 125 can keep up with your 140 due to the lower 125 weight?

In a drag race maybe the 125 will follow the X33 but since the X33 is a better bike overall , tires and suspension therefore on a track or trail I would loose the 125.

Rabbit121 12-09-2010 09:41 PM

I have both and the X33 will walk the 125 in a drag race. no comparison with ours.

Your probably right has both bikes are still on their first or second tank of gas, therefore im not pushing them to their limit.

But I was still impressed with the little 125 but I love my X33 way more.
