definatly replace all the engine bolts with grade...

definatly replace all the engine bolts with grade eight 3/8 bolts. You won't believe how much of a difference torquing down solid hardware makes. Should only take you about an hour and cost less...

In regards to changing the needle position, I found that it is pretty easy to do if you remove the seat and gas tank. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.

are you sure you checked the flasher unit and not the cdi? They look the same and are located near each other. I had a bad flasher unit and replaced with a $2.00 unit from a local autoparts store

I've seen drz 400 engines on ebay for that price and they make 30-35 hp at the rear wheel. I think that $1,100 for a chinese aircooled single is way out of hand no what the displacement.
