Well over the last week project tmec has had an interesting turn of events.
It all started going wrong big time when the bloke who was meant to be selling us the majority of the parts started messing us about with prices. Then we got a few silly quotes for the rear wheel.
But today we've had a massive stroke of luck. Found a year old tmec 125 for sale 50miles away for £500. It has the usual surface rust, faided plastics and the fork seals are shot, but apart from that it is apparently all good.
But the real cherry on the cake is the list of spares that is included in the sale:
Engine
Forks
Wheels
Rear swingarm
Rear shock
Complete plastics
Seat
Fuel tank
Wiring loom
Front and rear brake
Various other bits and bobs.
We should be picking it up on Tuesday, then I will take the best bits to make what should be a fairly decent bike, then we will be left with enough spares to make another complete bike if need!
