Qlink XF200 Alternate Tank Vent

Hey everyone,

I have a Qlink XF200 that I've been doing some work on recently, and the first thing I did was remove all the EPA emission junk they strap on these bikes. The only problem is that since the tank vent is from inside the tank rather than out the cap, it seems that a bit of gas ends up into the vent line. At first, I ran the vent line down the bike so it will drip on the ground, but I would rather have it set up more like dirt bikes, where the vent is above the tank so gas won't drip out. I purchased a dirtbike tank vent like this http://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Bil...fuel+tank+vent

But because the vent collects some gas in the line, it wont vent properly if this is above the tank. It seems my only option would be to tap a barbed nipple into the top of the tank to attach my vent to and plug up the stock one.

The one other thing I noticed is that the carb has a vent line coming out the side of it (not the float bowl drain). I was wondering if I can connect the tank vent to this so any gas that drips out will end up in the float bowl. Will this cause any problems?

Thanks everyone,
-TT
