RB - I went and had a look at my Hawk, and here's what I've worked out. If you remove the headlight cowling, and perhaps the headlight, you should have easy access to the two bolts that hold the ignition assembly in place n the bottom of the upper triple tree. As far as locking the bike up, that's easily solved with the new key when it arrives. All the locks for the key cover are the same. It's a small magnet embedded in the key head that allows you to turn the cover out of the way. Once your new key comes in, just use it as you normally would. Once you have the cover opened, it should be a simple matter of swapping out the assemblies and you're off and riding. Let us know how it turns out.
