More than likely it is not the solenoid.

Check and insure both the ignition and the kill switch are in the run position. That eludes more people than one would expect.


Disconnect the lead from the solenoid to the starter and press the starter button, you should hear the relay click if its good. Usually you can't hear it due to the sound of the starter motor.

If no click check the connectors on that circuit. If you have a meter check for continuity through the circuit.

The circuit is dead simple, a wire running from the solenoid to the starter button and back. It is not tied to or over run by any other system except the kill switch.
