Brake light upgrade was next. I consider this a safety upgrade more than anything. I found a Youtube video of someone installing this brake light and I think it's somewhat common for motorcyclists in general to use this type of bulb. Its a brighter LED brake light but when you apply the brakes it also blinks 3 times before staying on. If someone behind you isn't paying close attention that blinking will help catch their eye. If a $10 light saves a person from rear-ending me it'll be the best $10 ever spent!
The set I got was Alla Lighting 2057 1157 LED Strobe Brake Light bulbs. Came in pack of 2 lights for $20 on Amazon.
To install, it was simply removing the two screws on the rear light and popping off the red lens. Then turning the bulb lefty-loosey and replacing it with the LED. Then popping the red lens back on and two screws back in. 5 minute job at max.
