Always glad to see another person thinking about taking on a swap.

1) Yup. For the hard "upgrades" on the 229cc engine: you have the big bore kit, timing key, cam, porting, etc. If you want more displacement and more horsepower, you can only squeeze so much out with all of the above.

Beyond what it can support, the only real options are a new engine or a new bike. Engine might be cheaper. Could be more expensive in the long run, however.

I say this because you are going to have to modify your engine cradle for mounting, do some re-wiring on the harness, figure out your radiator mounting situation, etc. It doesn't seem like a lot but it can add up quick.
