A bike that's over 400 pounds, over 400cc's, that doesn't even put out 25hp, and costs just south of 5 grand, doesn't check one box for me. I have yet to see the novelty in these, besides just being "something different". I do hear they are quite reliable though.
Other than that, it is a cool looking bike (so it does check one box?). I'm happy to see some of the late 60's-early 70's styles come back into fashion.

Agreed on the lack of power of all RE bikes. Their main drawback for the US, with its fast highways. The Honda and Kaw 300s are better bikes for most people. But they do fill a niche. I have zero interest in huge heavy cruisers like Harleys and all the Japanese copycats, but lotsa peeps seem to like 'em. If I got a RE for just tooling around, it would be the 650 Interceptor. Don't need modern power; it's just about the experience for me.
