Which would be a better starter bike for my girlfriend?
It's betewwen a Q 200 Supermoto and a Q 250 Legend. She just finished the motorcycle class and has her license. She's ridden with me a few times, but is still very new and somewhat nervous. She likes to ride though.
Her son, 17, also has a brand new license and will be sharing whatever she decides to get.
They are both 6 feet tall, and thin with long legs and in good shape.
Both bikes are about the same price, in the $1500-$1800 range.
The 200 is perfect, an '08, with less than 1,000 miles. The 250 is in excellent shape with 5,000 miles and an '07. The 200 still has 20 months of warantee and roadside assistance warantee left. I don't know about the 250 in that regard.
As I see it, the 200 is the 'cooler' and much more fun bike, especially for the boy. The 250 might be a better long distance bike and it has a lower seat. On the down side it weighs 100 lb more, and will likely be cramped for such tall people. Still, it has a twin. Is is OHC or OHV? Anyone know?
When she's up to more long distance riding, I have a 'spare' touring bike. A '78 GS 750 with full Vetter fairing and luggage for her to ride.
TIA for your thoughts.
Bill The Fast Doc.
