Otherwise, these engines are supposed to have about 1.1 quarts in them, and most people just put 1 quart in and that tends to put the oil in the sight glass about halfway. While running it is normal not to see the oil in the sight glass as the engine is circulating a portion of said oil.

The typical method for checking the oil level on many Honda engines is to run the bike for a couple-few minutes, shut it off, and let it sit for about 5 minutes and then check the sight glass level, and if needed top it off a bit.
