Has anyone replaced their hawks mirrors with one you can actually see out of? if so please post a link. I'm done trying to contort my head to get a good view of what is behind me. Thank you in advance.

IMO the best motorcycle mirrors are the old round stainless steel type with 3 screws on the back to adjust the tension on the ball joint. They're sturdier than plastic and don't droop or rattle due to vibration. The ones currently on my bikes are at least 25 years old and have survived many drops. EMGO still sells them.

i noticed if the oem mirrors are exactly perpendicular to the bike they were ok but 1/8" either way and they sucked.

The ones I received from "Hoosier Garage" are pure crap... must be a bad batch, as everyone else that has their mirrors likes them... but I can't see whats behind me if I'm using the engine... vibrates tooooooo much... I will try a few things to fix it when I have the time, but I will probably go to "bar end mirrors" and drop some more weight off the bike while I'm at it

Looks like BlackBike took care of you, and I realize you were looking for a better replacement than the OEM crap ones that came with it.

Just in case someone finds this thread and is looking for a direct replacement in the event of breakage, search for:

"108-53 mirrors"

and it should point to a few places that carry a replacement set that closely matches the triangular shape on the Hawks.

I had a hard time finding them when I replaced one a year ago. For whatever reason I wanted a direct replacement, and ordering from RPS was a joke at the time. I finally was able to get a set off of ebay for $18, but the link is dead now.

If I was doing it again, I'd just get the replacement set above for a wider field of view, but hey, if accurate restoration of Chinese hardware is your thing, these should get you back to that OEM look and feel.

yup, for those in pursuit of OEM perfection... not me

Maybe one day this china bike will be commanding big money from collectors looking for a pebble beach concourse quality restoration. I will be kicking myself in the but for tossing the OEM mirrors, carb and instr cluster.

Then order a second one and don't uncrate it.

On topic. I plan on getting these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Fo...3D122454345214 , although the ones posted above are tempting. I am so used to riding a bike with no mirrors or useless mirrors - because I am so tall and broad shouldered that all I ever see is my arms and elbows in 3/4 of the mirror, that I just head check 99% of the time. About the only time I use my mirrors is to discreetly see if I have an officer of the law behind me.

If you have the same broad body issue that I do, these are kind of nice. They don't look the coolest, but they work well. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-CNC-10mm-...3D222080266141

how true. Who knew my star wars toys from my youth were going to be worth so much money. Too bad I had an nearly infinite supply of M-80s.
