speedometer cable

Hi,

this weekend my speedometer cable went bad. I went to 2 local bike/parts suppliers. I showed them the cable, but both said they didn't have cables for Skyteams...(V-Raptor 250). They also told me once they didn't have spark plugs for skyteams.

Some Japanese cable must fit, but witch one? I looked up the Suzuki Van Van cable, but it looks different.

I also had some problems with the rear disk brake. The pads locked and wouldn't open. After 15 minutes of playing with the brake pedal and trying to pry them apart they finally openend. Anyone else with that king of problem? What can cause this?

Eric

what bike is yours a copy of? does the internet have any answers?

chances are it is a generic part u can order cheaply from china or the US, but likely there is a german importer who has all that generic stuff. who sells pitbikes, 200c dirt bikes, quads in germany?

bikeshop dudes only respond if u say the name of the brands they sell. sometimes u get a good guy, but only sometimes. they are the salt of the earth.

It's a copy of the Suzuki rv125 Van Van. That cable is different then mine though. If I new which cable looks like mine from other jap bike, I could go to the bike shop and compair it before I buy it. If I order it and it doesn't fit I have the hassel with sending it back.

I could get it from the shop I bought the bike from, but they are a 90-100km away. It would be quicker if I got it from local guys.

Hi Eric,

This would be my guess for the speedometer cable: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=...&id=3149710018 I believe that the price is actually 15 CNY, not $15.00USD. Parts from Taobao are really inexpensive.

Regarding the brakes, I'd flush out the brake fluid and change it. You might need to remove the camliper in order to bleed it properly, since the bleeder needs to be at the highest point of the caliper.

Thanks, but mine looks different. I was browsing ebay and found this.
http://www.ebay.de/itm/TACHOWELLE-HY...ht_3160wt_1004

The Karion is a copy of the TW200
It looks like Hyosung use the same type cable. Mine is 85cm. Now I just need to find out which Hyosung has the aprox length.

Ok, will do.

I agree with Weld. Bleed the system. When you release the brake, the fluid is supposed to flow back into the reservoir. That releases the pads from the caliper. If there may be blockage this won't happen.

As to getting parts from a "real" motorcycle shop; I think it was Weld that suggested that you don't name the bike. Just tell them it's a "project" bike.

Thanks for the tips everyone.

I found one on Ebay for a Suzuki GN125. Shipping was quick (2 days) & works fine.

I changed the fluid. Seems to be ok now.

Hi there

Sorry to resurrect an old thread ..

I assume the GN125 speedo cable will fit the 125cc V-Raptor? Are the other cable (Throttle & Clutch) also the same as a GN125's?

Cheers

Tony

Measure it & get the answer from pictures of https://weidong360.taobao.com/
Keywords: 油门线 Throttle cable | 离合线 Clutch cable
===
For example: Chonda in GN125 body
https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=19795752017 REAL GN is shorter
https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=20146883543 REAL GN's end is in different shape
