I just picked up a new pod filter of amazon. Installed it today and now makes a weird sound. It could be normal since its a pod filter. I also haven't tuned the carb quite yet so that might be another reason. For tuning it too, what should I do. I don't know too much about carbs. I'll upload a vid of the sound when I figure out how to do that.

Like a fft, fft, fft, fft sound? Hey, maybe it's a bleeb bleeb bleeb bleeb sound? Or wonk wonk wonk,...ok kidding. You didn't say so was messing with you.
Mine does make a sucking sound. One of my buddies that knows bikes mentioned that he's never heard that before. I guess i'm used to it now and barely notice it.

The intake noise will be louder. With the pod filter you will need to install larger main jet as it will run a little leaner with the free flowing pod filter.

I have a pod filter on my Hawk and you can definitely hear the vacuum of the intake valve opening and sucking through the carb. I also have the carb re-jetted and a high-flow exhaust. There's A LOT of air moving through the pod filter without the airbox dampening out the sound. Like Jerry said, as long as it's not making very expensive sounding noises, you're probably good to go. Mechanical sounds of metal crashing into metal would be a red flag, but just a different noise coming from the filter isn't anything to worry about. You will most likely need to rejet the carb, and the exhaust is a huge win in terms of performance.

Stock air boxes suppress a lot of the sounds from your engine.
