Very nice looking 500cc single

Doing the Google thing and ran across this model.
500cc Sport bike 8)
Exactly what I would like to have for street riding.
Only 1 cylinder to worry about, not so fast that I scare myself "wit"less (sic) you know what I mean  , very nice looks (hey, I'm a knee dragger at heart).
I'm drooling and already standing in line and they probably aren't even available over here :P

Might be one of those "vapourware" manufacturers. On their site, under "motorcycles" they only show 3 bikes, not that 500, and those 3 are other peoples machines. For example the paralell twin cruiser shown is made by Pioneer or Qingqi, the V-twin cruiser is exactly like the Lifan LF400 down to the paint job.
You can even see the "LF400" on the side cover. There are no brand names on the tanks. Suspicious.

That 500 sounds really good, specially as the power output is quoted as 50 hp. Very high for a 500 single, but googling using the engine type they quote, "SUBARU ES50", that bike appears in various places with different brands. One of them is SASAKI HS500sa. It has appeared in an article by the UK's Motor Cycle news:

Forchetto,
Thanks for the extra info and review link.
This one just looks so much better (to me) than the other street offerings from the China mfgs.
This is actually the intial web-page where I found the bike.
Shanghai Tandem Motors
They list North America as one of their markets. Maybe one day we'll see this one over here.

I pulled the one from Epeax cause it had pics of both sides of the bike.

I posted a link to that some bike a year or so ago, but at the time it was being billed as a bike carrying the Subaru name. It has also been introduced as a VW product as well.... vaporware? yeah. It is actually an Itallian bike ... I can't remember the maker's name, but it was in production a couple of years ago.

And there ya' go. Wondered about that when Forchetto linked that review from 2007
Bit more Googling: Seems like one of the companies listed as the manufacturer doesn't have a very good service record
Shanghai Tandem problems

Knothead was right on

Too bad it is so easy to get on a 600cc rocket. None of the manfacturers will want to bring in a single cylinder street bike to the States.
Oh well, I'll keep hoping that Q-Link will actually bring in the Megelli 250r.

Could it have been:
Cagiva Mito 500 Prototype?
Still a sweet looking bike.
Just the thing for a forward thinking Chinese company to clone

The bike that Roketa is showing is not really the Subaru-engined sports bike. It's an Asiawing, and its engine looks very much like a Yamaha SR or XT500:

http://www.asiawing.com/english/info...p?id=14&c_id=4

It was discussed on this thread, with lots of close-up details and video:

http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/sh...light=asiawing

This is its engine:

They also have a tasty-looking OHC 4-valve, liquid cooled 450, 43 HP, 118 kg Dirt bike:

This is thoroughly talked about on this thread:

Close, but no cigar..........
I'm an "ex-wannabee" knee dragger.
Put a GP fairing on it and I go ga-ga.

Not interested in going 0-60 in 2 seconds or 220mph.
Just wanna look like it

I may go the Moto450 route and cobble something together.
I've seen a couple of Buell Blast cafe racer conversions that look good.
