Zuki TC120 progress

I got the tank ready and waiting for clear coat which I'll do tomorrow morning

Here's the bike as it sits right now. Pulling the seat off tomorrow to send and get recovered. BTW, had to part with the turtle so it's gone

I found an old Suzuki add and tried to copy the color and stripes the best I could. I missed it a little but not to bad

That is such a cool ad! Makes me want to buy one! You are going to have so much fun on this bike. I think the tank looks great too!

Jim, I am very glad you decided to join us at China Riders.

I always enjoy reading your posts. I must admit, I am especially eager to read your evaluation of the Hensim 250 Dual Sport motorcycle.

I don't want to hijack your thread, but do you have an idea when you might be acquiring the Hensim 250?

I'm glad I joined too. It took a while to post anything tho. Anyway, Spud, I'm not certain when I'll get to OKC to be honest about it? I keep thinking, I'll just take the time to go and then something that seems more important comes up and it gets postponed. The sad part is, I'm pretty sure Jeremiah has talked himself out of it again at least for now. Either way, I'm getting one as soon as I can go pick it up. I just need to do it before farming season gets rolling good because that cuts my time down even more. One more thing, I'm not sure what kind of review I can offer as far as riding it goes since I only stand 5'7" it limits what I can ride comfortably and from what I saw the seat hieght is around 34 to 36". Anyway, it was high enough Jeremiah at 6'2" wasn't able to put his feet flat on the ground so for me that means tip toe on one foot with my butt hanging half off the seat. Another problem is, I caught rhuematic fever as a child and have had problems with RA ever since. I've tried alot of different meds over the years and none of them seemed to help and some made me feel worse so I just gave up on them. When I was 31 I finally had to give up riding bikes because of it. I had a nearly new Honda Silver Wing at that time and it about tore my heart out to have to sell it after spending the majority of my life stradling a bike. A person never looses his love for riding so the next best thing was atvs. I'd had a couple before but they were more for work than play. The last 20 years has been more atvs than anything else. When our next to the youngest daughter met Jeremiah a couple of years ago he rode a 750 Honda Shadow out here one day and of course I started getting an erge to ride again, but I wasn't sure I could so kept putting it off. Then about a year ago, I mentioned to my wife I'd like to find a bike to ride. Just something small and inexpensive so I could see if I could still ride and to build my confidence in riding again. I looked at several over the past year and couldn't decide anything until I came across the old Zuki. It was cheap and small, and if I laid it down, I wasnt loosing much so thats a short version of the story. When I got the zuki running right and took it down the road the first time, I was one proud peacock! To be honest, I'm still feeling a little uncertain about riding. Of course it's only been a couple of weeks and it keeps raining enough to stop me from riding much but its getting better each time I get on the XL since the zuki is apart. It feels a little uncomfortable talking about this really, I guess because in the 80s my wife and I probably spent 100,000mi riding to Oh, NM, all over Tx, Ok, and Ks, and I can't even begin to count the miles I rode when I was younger. Is it possible to be an experienced rookie? :?

Glad to have you with us Jim. Sorry to hear about your health issues, but glad you are a scrapper and fighting back! The ATV's and the little Suzuki are a great way to go. How's your hand strength for the clutch and throttle?

Hand strength is pretty good for the most part, but they've lost a lot of flexibility and don't open up as much as they use to. My ankles took it worse than anything else did. I try to keep myself in pretty good physical condition altho I do smoke but try to keep it to a minimum. Smoking was a bad habit I picked up welding in the oil field back in the 80s. My daughter, the one married to Jeremiah is a scapper more than me. She nearly died a few years back before they finally found out what was wrong with her. She has PPH and relies on a pump similar to a insulin pump to pump meds in her to keep her alive and recently a new problem has come up so it's back to different specialist to see if they can figure out what's going on. In school she was always healthy and a good athlete. In her junior yr she was averaging 22pts per game playing basketball. Her senior yr she began to have problems breathing and the drs all said it was asthma. In college it continued to get worse until she was unable to do anything including a simple walk. I won't get into the details but the last handful of years have been a nightmare to put it mildly.

PPH. Bad stuff. Prostalaglandin infusion directly into the plumonary arteries helps. So does silandifil, viagra essentially. That was it's original development indication. Affects nitric oxide metabolism.

Definitive treatment (cure) can be accomplished with lung or heart/lung transplant. Not an easy situation. Pray hard, put your trust in God not the doctors, even though they try as hard as they can.

A little ride on an ATV would be good for her too.

I'm glad you found the Suzuki, Jim.

It's a beautiful little motorcycle, and you are doing a great job restoring it! No matter how much, or little, you might ride it, I hope it will continue to refresh your spirit.

In regards to the Hensim, Jeremiah might change his mind again; you never know.

In any event, you have already taught us a lot about the Hensim; I did not think it was so tall! After reading the specification sheet a while back, I thought the bike had a low seat height! Personally, I much prefer a low seat height; I like to get both feet flat whenever I stop.

She's taken all those meds doc. She's off the viagra now. The pump has remodulin in it and I'm not sure what tracleer is but that another along with blood thinner. She's recently developed a murmur, I know that's not spelled right but her dr wants her to see a heart specialist, he's a pulminary specialist himself, to try and find out whats going on. She likes to ride atvs. Here's a pic of her and Jeremiah

Like you spud, I've always liked setting my feet solid on the ground too. As soon as I can get my hands on one of the hensim enduros I'll definitly fill everyone in.

Thanks again guys. She is a beautiful woman and tough as boot leather. Her dr got her on disability but she's too proud to stay on it. She has a degree in phys ed, biology, and also a cert in phleabotomy. I'm pretty sure that's not spelled right even after spelling it 3 times :? Anyway, she knows how to draw blood and works at one of the local hospitals as a vampire. Thats easier to spell

I've got a lot of pics and will load them on the computer and gladly share them with you. Hopefully the weather will cooperate tomorrow since we're planning on loading the atvs and heading for the National Grasslands to ride some trails. I'll take some pics while we're there.
