PR Industries 250

Hello,
I have the PR Industries 250 bikes. It was great but had it sitting for about 2 months and now its dead. There was plenty of battery left, tries to start but just wont fire. The plug is a bit black but not to bad, there is a spark with it. There is gas in the fuel filter and when I unhook it it runs out so I know there isn't an obstruction in the tank or fuel switch, maybe in the carb though.

I'm not sure what peoples thoughts are on it but i tried it anyways, took the plug out and put a little bit of gas in and put the plug back in. After that it fired up for a second until the gas was burned.

Any ideas???

Sounds like you need to clean the carb out, remove the carb, remove the fuel bowl and clean out the jets and passages, then reinstall.

Try a little starting fluid. Can't hurt and you might get lucky.

No offence intended towards my good friend Doc when I say that starting fluid can hurt. A little would probably be ok, but I wouldn't risk it. There is too great a chance of spontaneous combustion with disastrous results. The method of putting a little gas in the cylinder is much safer.

That said, have you tried a new plug? Are you running a genuine NGK? Pouring some gas into the cylinder can mask a bad plug, although I agree that the carb might be blocked.

That's a good idea too. It is a little safer, but a little shot of starting fluid wokrks wekk. You can't use too much or it will be too rich a mixture to work and there may be a hazard as well.

BTW it works GREAT in potato guns as a propellent. :P
