Fuel gauge issues

Filled up today and gauge bars started at full then went to empty and started flashing. Anyone have this issue?

My Hawk does that occasionally. I always reset the trip meter when I fill up, so I know how far I can go before I have to top up the go-juice. Get a flashlight and check the float inside the tank. It's possible that the float sprung a leak and took on fuel, sinking to the bottom. That would be the first place I check.

That's what I was planning to do on this fill up. I guess now I should have done it on the first fill up but have only had this bike for 2 months and wasn't expecting things to malfunction so soon. If the float did take on a leak Im guessing there is no fixing that and probably wont be able to locate a new tank. I will start there today. Thanks

The float assembly should be able to come out the bottom of the tank. It's not really that hard, just time consuming. There are parts out there, and a new float shouldn't be that hard to run down. Let us know how you make out.

Check the connector and wiring for the sending. May just be a bad connection or corroded connector or break in the wiring.

Whisky,where did you purchase your bike from?and is it the one that looks like the razkull?

Venom Motorsports (Canada)- yes it's the clone of the Raskull. Venom has been very helpfull with another issue I had so I'm sure I will hear from them as I have emailed them on this. I'm thinking if it was a lose wire problem it wouldn't be flashing empty but I will take a look later today when it warms up.

I did find the problem. (jerryHawk250) was correct. There is a green and yellow wire connector under tank embedded into the main wiring harness, the yellow wire was not locked into the connector. I locked it in and checked the rest of the wiring that I did not check before so all "should be good now". I'm really starting to see you must check absolutely everything on these China bikes as some have said. On mine its has become a must.

Glad to see you got that resolved. I've taken apart every connector on my Hawk and put dielectric grease. I found a couple that weren't locked in place.
