Hawk 250 shifting problems

Has anybody had any problems with their bike shifting at higher speeds? It seems like as soon as my bike gets warmed up i start experiencing shifting problems. My bike only has about 500 miles on it so i wouldn't think it would be the clutch failing already. And I've tried all kind of different clutch adjustments. Also I've got a small shift shaft seal leak but i keep plenty of fluid in it. Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem. No amount of adjustment would help. The cable has an adjustment point at the case side, might have to pull the header to get to the jam nuts.

I made a big adjustment here and it's good now. Yesterday I was out woods riding and if the bike gets good and hot the bar end will need a little bump to find neutral easy. When it cools down it's a non issue. I doubt you smoked the clutch yet.

The majority of a clutch adjustment needs to be done on the engine side of the clutch cable as Red Hawk suggests. The adjustment at the lever is for fine tuning. This guide for the TT250 also works with the Hawk. https://www.cscmotorcycles.com/check...and-adjustment

With two Hawks now I have learned that the best adjustment for the clutch with the bike cold can often need a little re-adjusting at the lever when the motor gets hot. These things tend to suffer from a bit of clutch fade. The ideal adjustment hot will almost seem too tight when cold. I often found myself adjusting the clutch a turn or two out at the lever once the bike was hot to compensate for this.
