Doing the Jet Mod, what's my carb?

I am going to do the main jet mod. Problem is, I don't know where to start.
I can remove and disassemble the carb without issue, but...
  • What type of carb is it?
What size main jet do i get?
    Where do I get one?
Should I do the clip mod?
Why even do the clip mod? My idle is fine, mostly.
I would like to be supplied with the jet from Ontario, Canada if possible.
Who is the better dealers for Chinabikes here anyway?
Too many questions?

Here is my carb.

The PZ30 is plenty of Carb for your bike. If it starts and runs well, I'd leave it alone.

Why do the main jet mod ?

Unless you live at very different elevation or have gotten rid of the very restrictive stock exhuast you should be fine with just moving the needle clip and fine tuning the air-fuel mixture screw.

I had the understanding (wrong I guess) that the jet increase of two sizes would result in an increase of power for the bike.
I need more top end before I start hitting the bigger highways here in Ontario, Canada in mid July. (graduated licencing)
My intension was to put on a K&N Cone air filter, increase the main jet and drill a couple of holes into the end of the exhaust to get the power increse I need.
Right now my top end is 112km/hr (69.5mph), I need 130 km/hr (80 mph)If I can get it.

I don't know how much more power you will get from your machine. What sprockets are you using Squish?

Well OK then buy a few jets to have on hand so you can get it fine tuned after drilling your exhaust.

And as has been mentioned you may want to change your sprockets a bit also.

After I did the K&N filter and the exhuast and the rejetting I had much more useable lower end power that was very evident when taking off in the deep sand where I ride. The bike went from a sluggish almost unrideable bike in the sand to a very fun bike that now keeps digging thru the sand and gets going very well.

What that means to you is you could use that power increase and change the sprockets a bit and get your wanted speed or atleast closer to it if you do it all right.

I myself like/need the lower end power to do the trail riding I like to do and personally I couldnt care less about increasing my top end speed a whole lot.
But I know that I could change the rear sprocket from the stock 46 to a 42 and the bike would pull it just fine and I'd have a bit more top end.

You may be able to get a little more with some mods but I don't think 80mph is a maintainable speed. You may opt for a bigger bike if you need to do a lot of interstate riding.

My current sprocket configuration is a 42T rear and a 17T front. Gave the bike way more get up and go. Dampend the vibrations and brought the top end speed up to the current 112 km/hr I can currently hit and hold fine. I wanted the extra 10mph for those times I am going to need to get out of harms way, if and when I need to. I don't intend on blasting down the freeway, teeth clenched and holding on with my knees and fingers though.

So I should be able to get a little more out of the bike so i don't need to pin the throttle all the time, so I guess its;

What size jets would you suggest?
Where do I get them in Ontario? A honda dealer?
What K&N Cone filter do I ask for?
Oh, and who are the best dealers around these parts?

Thanks again guys!

Yeesh Squish....Im happy with the 100 kmph top speed, I dont think I would want to go any faster on my machine.too unpredictable.but if you can get it to happen, why not, good luck!

You make me a little nervous when you say "Good Luck".
Don't like luck very much...
The extra is just for busts when required. My next bike will be a 400c at least and I won't worry too much about the tweeking stuff then.

With a good running 400 your right you wont have to tweak it much, if at all.

I bought my jets at DennisKirk the filter I used is a K&N RC-1120 but I hear that the UNI filters are better.

I bought an aftermarket XR200 exhuast and it is pretty much a straight shot thru and only has a spark arrestor screen to hamper the flow. (looks and sounds good)
