sunl brand

Hey I'm new to the china bike scene. I was wanting your opions on a bike it's a Sunl SLD-200GY. Is it a good brand or do I need to look at a different brand?
Any information would greatly be appriciated.

my sister and brother inlaw had three quads, they were not counter balanced and shook like crazy they lost bolts several times, but they never ran loctight on all the bolts like I told them to.

I know nothing of the motorcycles. might check the vibrations out. if it is non counterbalanced, make sure the deal is a really good one "sub 700 dollar range IMO".

I had a lifan, it was counterbalanced and never had to change the motor mount bolts the bike was really solid and I would highly reccomend a lifan although it is a little more expensive I think it was a stellar bike for the price.

Several members have had serious problems getting parts and service for the SunL brand. Also, some of their stuff is not compatible with your standard, run-of the-mill China Bike, so parts do not readily interchange. (I Believe.)

If I remember right there were some registration issues as well (Lack of MSO?)

YMMV

Isn't the SUNL SLD200GY virtually the same as the LIFAN LF200GY-5 ?. If it is, then it has the non-counterbalanced 163FML engine. I would go for something with the newer and far smoother 163FML-2. It's easy to tell them apart just from looking at the front of the crankcase. The counterbalanced engine having a "lump" sticking out off the crankase where the balance shaft is housed.

One good bike that uses this engine is the LIFAN LF200GY-6:

I don't understand what was just said here, my gy-5 is supposed to be counterbalanced and has the lump on the crankcase. Why would it not be counterbalanced?

Lifan used gy 5 for both the non counter balanced and the counterbalanced engine.gy6 is 2008

I wouldn't shy away from it because of the engine. Lifan is the ONLY company that had vibe issues bad enough that they NEEDED to counterbalance it. My Roketa OHC engine is smooth as silk and is NOT counterbalanced. Test ride the SunL. IF you like it, buy it. You may not be able to get SunL replacement parts, but you can retrofit other brands to work. If it's a good deal, and you like the feel of it, I'd buy it.

I have a Sunl SLD-200GY and I have gone 1000kms with no major problems what so ever. Not a lot of vibrations either. good bike as far as I am concerned. I owned a dr 125 back in the day and i just as happy with this one. -Cory
