Transporting the Enduro's

Just curious how you all transport the Enduros. I couldn't find any thread about it yet. When I transported mine, I used the rachet-style tie downs. I hooked it to 4 areas on the bike, sat down on the bike to compress the suspension, and tightened it. The 4 areas I connected it to was each side of the cross-bar on the handlebars, and each side of the luggage rack thing on the back of the bike. While transporting and going over bumps, it bounced a ton. I could only imagine it was putting a lot of stress on the places it is attached to.

Do you think these places are strong enough to handle constant transporting? Are there better places to attach to? I plan on transporting it at minimum 3 to 4 times a year (120+ miles) on my trailer.

I usually just use the crossbar area when transporting bikes. Two ratchet straps. This includes streetbikes too.

We now always use the front and rear locations and we slip a block in between the front wheel and triple tree.
Then I'll use a couple of bungee's to keep tension on the rachet tie downs.

Never ever have any problems with that.

25-30 years ago I'd have just grabbed some bungee's and rope and tied it to whatever, truck, trailer and away we went.

I think its a really good idea to rig up something additional to the footpegs. eyebolts thru the floor are good anchor points. when traveling over really bumpy areas, the forks are going to compress more than you locked em down and when those damned straps come loose, well wouldn't be the first time I've looked in the mirror and seen an empty trailer where there had been 3 atvs only a few minutes before
(good thing I was going slow at the time.)

TC does this all the time.
