someone on here posted that this is a perfect fit for the stock battery.
http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tender.../dp/B00F9LPJ8S less than 2 pounds so should be a pretty good weight savings. Not cheap but besides the exhaust probably the biggest weight savings I am going to find in a single component. |

I think it's due to 'overcharging' on most motorcycles*... if you find a way to keep the volts from 'spiking' (?going over 14.x volts?) I'm sure those Lithium Ion batteries will work just fine once the charging system is 'fixed'.
*I have seen the same thing happen when people put those Lithium Ion batteries on a normal battery charger, they overcharge and melt them is my thinking

AH refers to the storage capacity. I think you are referring to CA or cranking amps

in this case a 6AH battrey you can draw 6 amps off it for 1 hour 3 amps for 2 hours 2 amps for 3 hours 1 amp for 6 hours CCA = Cold Cranking Amps.. is the max current the battrey can deliver at one time...

Factory battery is 6.5AH so the AGM 6AH does just fine. It's 130CCA Couldn't find anything else anywhere that would fit. Our HUGE battery distributor couldn't even find a regular battery. Everything i found was 1/4" to long or waaay to tall. Can't find ANYWHERE on line to search by size either.........

I have one of those 12 volt USB plugs which displays ambient temp (Celsius ),USB amp draw, and system voltage. Upon high speed rides (55mph haha), it regularly displays 14.x vdc. Not good for lithium.

AGM (gel cell) supposed to be superior for rough conditions

typically, capacity and cranking amps go hand in hand. AGM can put out a bit more than flooded because of the matting between plates keeping them from warping, but, not a whole lot more.
