Preparing for Brozz delivery on Monday

I’m preparing for delivery tomorrow and gathering a few items I don’t currently own.
New oil and spark plug and valve feeler gauge, grease gun and grease fittings. I was looking at a simple stand at Harbor freight and maybe a jack. Didn’t really need that jack but I read it was the easiest way to install the shock. Heck my car doesn’t even have a spare tire or jack. My truck does.
Is there an easy way to bolt up the shock without using a jack?

In the lack of having an available friend or older child (a second person is ideal assembling these dual-sports), people have tied rope or used tie downs from hooks on their garage ceilings or carports to assemble these.

Welcome to the Brozz family! I recommend getting a dirt bike stand, balance it on the stand then you can easily rock it back to line up the shock bolt. it will also make routine maintenance much easier.

Thanks,
I moved to central Fl and left my bud and most of our tools we had collected. I have some basics and I’m slowly purchasing what I need as I go. The reason for the lack of things that would seem normal.

No , sorry. I just remember the Brozz are supposedly jetted a little richer 105 main jet. I’m at sea level. Something Else to look at.
Does anyone have a link for a upgrade jet kit for Brozz. I assume I’ll have to increase the main to a 110 or 115. Any help her would appreciated!

The 105 works pretty good, I'm around 1000ft though, I went to 110, and it's about perfect for stock exgaust. You'll probably want 115 or 120. Mikuni main jets work fine I found a 105-130 pack on eBay for a few bucks.

I would leave the stock carb alone for the break-in period. I am fairly certain both the Brozz and the Storm have the same engine set-up (as well as the BMS CRP 250 and that new motard bike).

Still considering one.. I'm also at 1000ft. If purchased, don't plan on changing the exhaust either. Good to know what jet to get for my altitude..

I'm interested how the OP makes out with his purchase..

Shifter

Here’s a pic . Is this the norm.
I can move the shifter in and out on the shaft. It won’t bite down. I’m afraid to turn it any more and strip it. You guys think I should crank it more?

It’s alive

My bike started right up on the second hit of the starter on half choke. I adjusted the idle a little and let it warm up. I took her for a short spin. Brakes needed adjustment. I cleaned the front rotor with alcohol before assembly to remove the oil. Perhaps I didn’t get it all. Because they sux. Cleaned again and readjusted the rear. After a few miles they seem to become slightly better. Is this normal? Hopefully they’ll bite more as they wear because they’re very weak and dangerous in my opinion.
Bike rides nice and shifts with ease. I was able to find neutral easily at first. Then things changed. 1st gear into neutral is difficult. Second gear into neutral works. Bike is definitely not a power house. I new this going in but still a little let down. I took it easy just short shifting and cruising. I have no tag yet! But couldn’t resist. Gauges are nice and ease to read. Speedo was off + 2 mph according to the street radar. Height of the seat is just about right. I’m able to swing my leg over but wouldn’t want it any higher. Seat is roomy and comfortable. It could definitely use a brighter bulb in the head lamp if you plan on night rides or add some additional lights. Bike is nice and quite which I like.

Finding neutral will get much better as you get some miles on it. Brakes will get better too once they wear in. Replace the headlight bulb with a good LED bulb.

Lay the bike on it's side. Maybe put a tarp or blanket down if you are worried about scratching anything. That's what I did with my bike.

Thanks for all the advise. I’ll leave the stock jetting alone for now and see how she runs during the brake in.

I’ve watched a few video on setting the valves lashes. This is something I haven’t done before. So am I safe with .003 on the intake and .004 on the exhaust . And done on a cold engine?

Cold engine, manual calls for .005 on both, I went .005 on intake .006 exhaust, seems to run pretty well.
