Hi China Riders!
Hi Chinariders. I'm new to this site today, and looking to buy a new Lifan 200---maybe in a box or ??. I live in Alexandria, VA. I bought a BMS110 Honda Super Cub clone in a box last November and it runs fine after some probs, but would like to go a bit faster. The BMS110 maxes at about 45mph. I had a KLR650 but broke a hip and it was too high--at 37 inches--to lift my bad leg over. Anyway I can't seem to find a source for a new Lifan 200----any ideas on that appreciated.

Welcome; we are glad you joined us.
Since American Lifan closed shop, it is very difficult to buy a Lifan in the United States. However, people are buying TMEC, Bashan, and Will motorcycles, among others. I am sure someone will come along shortly to offer you good advice regarding those motorcycles.

Welcome!
If you like to wrench on your own bike (which is a requirement with a China bike), you could always buy a used Lifan or other make. You can read about my adventures with a Lifan here: http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=12512

I bought a new Lifan 200 GY5 8 years and 54,000 miles ago. It's been a great bike but I also have a 2005 Roketa which was manufactured by Zongshen. Not many miles on that one yet but fit and finish is a bit better on the Zongshen so you might consider buying something other than a Lifan and get a bike that is just as good or better. I'm not sure if the importers like Roketa will tell you who makes any particular bike but if it's manufactured by Zongshen or another well known Chinese company I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.
