Dirtbike Magazine TT250 Review
Got my monthly issue of Dirt Bike Magazine in the mail yesterday. Looking thru the table of contents under bikes, I see CSC TT250 page 96. Flip, flip, flip, to page 96, and there it is. A nice, positive, fair, non-CB bashing article on the TT.
Didn't see a link to the article posted on their website yet so no link. BTW. I like Dirt Bike Magazine quite a bit. More trialbike, hobbiest oriented and fairly brand agnostic. Rojo

With reviews like this they won't be $2200 for much longer.

It's still a slightly upgraded Hawk $1350 or 2 Hawks $2400.Price point is very important for a chinese bike.

Excellent! Dirt Bike was always my #1 choice as well. I liked the old "From the Saddle" articles by Rick Sieman. Funny guy.
Glad to hear someone did an honest article!

Yep, as stated, that's him! Does anyone remember "GYDBT"?

Wasn't he also Rondo the Mr. know it all guy in Dirt Bike magazine? He would say "You should have known better" at the end of many of his replies. I was going to ask him a question one time but he didn't like young 80cc riders.

One thing to keep in mined when reading a review..
They get the bikes free to test.... So they have to be a bit diplomatic about what they say... Or there surply of free bikes to test will soon dry up... ...

Mrs. 2LZ picked up this issue for me. I have to admit, in the last 20 years that it's been since my subscription ran out, a lot has changed. I'm not used to a 2 page "review" on a bike. I miss the days where it's 6 pages of indepth write up and photos with every possible stat.
That said, the write up was more than fair, though it's more than a "starter bike", as they say. A major market is like me. I've been riding since I was 8 years old, now in my late 50's, still love to ride but don't go near as fast as I used to, nor do I need 14" of suspension travel or need a ladder to mount it. Also, the SSR 189 is the review just before the TT250 in the mag. I was VERY surprised that Dirt Bike was fair enough not to even mention country of origin in EITHER of the bike tests. They just judged them by the package, not the prejudice. Nice job DB! BTW, "GYDBT". For those who care, it was Super Hunky's old yellow El Camino. The "Great Yellow Dirt Bike Truck".

If the hawk is no problem to register in your state, then I'd go with the Hawk. I have a hawk and it is way better then it should be. I got in with a group purchase (4 bikes) and got it for $1,200. There are some guys who like the non counter balanced engine because of the simplicity.
ARH can chime in on the pros and cons of a counterbalanced engine. |
