Txpowersports Positive review
After a bad experience with APSCUSA (see thread here http://chinariders.net/showthread.ph...780#post237780 ) I looked for another place to buy my Hawk. Adam Rinkleff recommended a place, but I checked out their website and found obviously fake "Customer testimonials" and got a bad feeling again.
I went with txpowersports, mainly because Motocheez got a couple from there without problems and they had the next best price to APSCUSA. 12/8 - placed my order online 12/9 - got shipping notification and tracking 12/12 - got call from UPS Freight to setup delivery time 12/14 - received my Hawk (only issue was missing paint on tank from cardboard rubbing) 12/15 - called txpowersports about MCO and Bill of Sale, was told they were mailed out automatically on Hawks. 12/16 - Found my MCO and Bill of Sale in my mailbox. I went into the purchase skeptical, but it actually went really well. My overall take is that just about all of the dealers are a little sketchy, but this purchase worked out smooth as glass for me. Now, I just need enough time off work to finish putting it together and head to the tag agency. |

Part of the positive experience can be attributed to the forementioned Adam from RPS--most of these places drop-ship right from RPS. I have a good feeling that with both of these companies being in the same city helps streamline the process dramatically! Not to negate Txpowersports' involvement, because the MCO is pretty much on the dealer to get that to you. The fact it took literally days is great evidence of customer support on their part. I would check with both Tx and Adam regarding the shipping paint damage. Glad to read they took care of your order!

That sounds textbook perfect, Bill; I'm glad it went well for you. Have you had any discussion with them about the tank?

Bill, Welcome to the forum! Glad that your TXPowerSports experience was pleasant. I purchased my Hawk from them back in October. The experience was exactly as you described, however I ran into a pile of trouble trying to get the "street legal" Hawk registered. They didn't give me any support after the sale, and I had to jump through a bunch of (questionable) hoops to get my tag. In the end it worked out, but I probably won't buy from them again. Please keep us posted how your adventures at the tax and tag offices go. What will you primarily be doing with your Hawk? Any mods or upgrades in the works for you?

He lives in Florida so will not have any issues. I do feel that Txpowersports should do more than put a disclaimer on their site regarding their bikes. Like ask you up front what your intended purposes are, and if it is street, are you sure you can register the bike!! I mean, if you were asked that, and found out you couldn't register it, they could sell you a bike that you CAN register in your state! Common sense good customer service!

When I was looking at used bikes, I set a $2k budget, so when I found the Hawk at $1300-ish I still had room left for upgrades. I haven't put any upgrades on yet, I want to see how it runs stock first. |

Sounds like you're well on your way, Bill. I agree that a $2,000 budget goes a long way with these bikes. I'm working on some luggage options are are likely to push me over the $2,000 mark, but on the whole, I feel this bike is an amazing deal at the price. I have slightly less than 500 miles on mine so far, I haven't run across anything that makes me think I won't see many thousands of miles. Please keep us posted as you run through the upgrades.
