Canadian dealers ?
I'm quite taken with some of the deals south of the border and wondering is anyone aware of say a Q-Link dealer in Canada or is it even possible to import these from say a border town dealer. A cheapy supermoto runabout is what I'm seeking. XF200 is looking like a good option. Any of the other makers doing a supermoto?

There was a member just finalizing importing a bike into Canada, but as far as a Qlink dealer in Canada, there don't appear to be any. That supermoto is built by Qingqi, so if there are Qingqi's available there, could find one.
Members, help him out on who the member was having a bike shipped from a dealer in Calif. to Cananda, as I don't remember.

Coast to Coast is great if you are looking for a lifan, but you aren't...
I found out that a friend of mine from school had opened up a Qingqi dealer locally, but I think maybe it went out of business, but they are available here. I think they cost more then the lifan though if I remember correctly.

Allstar sales...PR Industries
Pr has EXCELLENT prices and resonable shipping. (Canada only sales) Allstar is probably the biggest online Canadian dealer and pricing is good. I bought through PRI but they may not have D/S in stock.

Using this link as an example for now:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Other...spagenameZWDVW if you were to buy this bike in Canada and were to pick-up yourself if you live close enough to Ohio! -OBTAIN RECALL CLEARANCE LETTER EITHER FROM DEALER OR OEM basically this is on company letterhead and explains there are no recalls on vehicle -OBTAIN TITLE AND BILL OF SALE After this submit by fax to US Customs copies of the above( 72 hours before you pick-up bike to bring to US Border), you will have to contact US Customs for more info, and make sure you contact officials from the same export port you will be using Before doing the above you can contact the closest Canadian border port to your destination for more info as well and ask them if they can schedule a inspection for the time you want to bring the bike to them They might issue a form 1 after this Or you might just bring the bike to them and they will take it from there, this might take a few days, so you will have to return and get the bike once it clears. (you must pay a $198.00 Registrar Of Imported Vehicle Fee) which can only be payed once a form 1 has been issued, you can pay the RIV fee on-line though using this link http://www.riv.ca/english/html/how_to_import.html Basically thats it, I dont think I missed to much remember to check the vehicles admissibility by puttting the exact manufacturers name here http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/impor...pcl/search.asp and example would be( Chongqing Huansong) Do this step first before you even buy a bike, maybe while your shopping around... There will be customs fees mine was $85.00 plus $30.00 a day for everyday your bike sits at the Canadian border, so make sure you notify them so the paperwork gets filed, preferably in advance if possible... There are more steps afterwards for registering your vehicle, but I will let you know when I get to that...I am certain though that the bike will have to be taken to Canadian tire after you recieve it and assemble etc...for a safety inspection prior to registration... Visit www.riv.ca for a more detailed instruction as I can only really offer guidelines, Im not a very experienced importer/exporter... but to my knowledge the above is accurate based on the scenario and explanation! Keep in mind consult your local Ministry Of Transportation and Transport Canada for more info on vehicle standards in your Province and Canada before you buy, for example I believe in Ontario and possibly all Canada a speedometer in KMPH is required etc...this would not matter though if you do not plan on registering for road use! Thanks! P.S. I used a transport company and a Customs Broker which was the safest bet for me but more costly than doing it yourself, keep in mind the only thing you really need to get a China bike into Canada are: -Title -Bill of sale -Recall Clearance Letter -$198.00 Registrar Of Imported Vehicle Fee -Any US and Canada Customs inspection Fees ***And the vehicle must be on this admissable list http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/impor...pcl/search.asp I dont think I forgot anything, except not to attemp importation until you do some homework, later! |
