450cc motor! That should put some power on the dirt. Be interesting to see how it works out.

I was wondering if you could clarify a couple of things from the video...

Did the ignition fail? Or did the aftermarket ignition that you added fail? If it started when you jumped the starter, then the ignition unit did not fail (the starter relay or button/wire failed, right?).

Also, you mentioned something about the timing chain failing. I must have heard that wrong. Did the timing chain fail?

I must have misunderstood.

I am seriously considering selling my GSX1250FA and buying one of these EGL RS 450s. So I am VERY interested to hear about your experiences with it. THE SSR Motorsports SR450S is the main alternative to this in the USA (maybe the only 450 in this price range). It is a little more expensive -maybe about $900 more if you include the destination charge, then there is the mysterious ocean freight surcharge as well! But November 2016 Dirt Bike magazine gave it a great review.

Thanks! It sure looks and sounds great. I like the looks of that swingarm, and frame/engine cradle (looks like a nice stiff alloy piece), though not impressed with the choke "placement" and other minor ergonomic SNAFUs

I am sure you have much more details to share. PLEASE do!!

Wonder if it's the same bike as this in Australia.

Asiawing OEM for a few brands and have had a 450 for several years and it's gotten really good reviews. I wonder if they have anything to do with Braap or EGL? Christini uses Asiawing for their 'all-wheel' drive bike as well as SSR for their liquid-cooled 250, 300, and 450 dirtbikes.

The Braaap lists for $6750 - Aus, $5000 - US, so it's pretty competitive! He also discusses a street-legal version. Here's a YouTube of it:

WOW, what a nice bike. I haven't really paid attention to "WholesaleATV" much because of some reviews, but having gone through the process, you just have to bite the bullet and hope it all works out. I was really impressed at the amount of dirt bikes (and street legal enduros) they had listed! I saw at least 7 different "EGL" bikes, starting at 125cc...quite the line-up! They also had the BSR 'Raven' for $1848 but the display pic shows a Hawk DLX! Haha! I would really like to get the EGL 300cc in my stable, but 4 g's is defeating the purpose! The one perplexing thing about the 450...is that it's only a 5-speed!

Here's the link to the dirt-bikes:https://www.wholesaleatv.com/collections/dirt-bikes

The 450 has a 6th gear which is great off-road and the proven engine has been used on much more platforms but do you have any ideas for a carburetor swap?
