Paint or replace?

I would like to change the color of my bike has anyone had any "good" results painting their plastics without it chipping off? Or does anyone know where I could order a complete kit? Also what is a good shock I could replace my weak one with without doing any modification to the mounts. I dont have any linkage on my bike so its pretty simple to change. Thanx

I did the same thing as chrism1. cleaned and scuffed. Krylon Fusion Hammered Aluminum with a nice clear coat.

I did the same. So far so good. I used Duplicolor vinyl paint on the seat.

How about getting it coated with a spray bedliner like Rhino-coat or
Pro-Thane.

It'd be a little on the Mad Max side, but it'd be original.

Thanx for all the ideas. I dont know about the mad max look for me but the Krylon Fusion sounds good. Any ideas on a replacement shock? There is alot of talk about shocks right now but I think most people have newer bikes with linkage that I dont have. My stock shock is shorter than the chinese ones sold on ebay for 30 - 40 bucks. I think about 10 inches.
