my weekend ride ends with broke bike

like i only get to ride on the weekends because my school want let use park on campus. I love my weekend rides so far but somthing seems to brake every weekend. This past weekend was the worse. The motor mount bolt broke. like the end just snaps off i notice the somthing poking me in my leg so later that day i found it to be the bolt. Still havent found a bolt to replace it everything i find is only eight inches. THen my Battery whent out this weekend. it sucked. i just bought a new one and it will start the bike but it doest turn over as easy. And my crome exahust cover flew off some where random. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it sucked i keep telling my self that once i fix evey thing it will be a good bike but every weekend somthing brakes. Please help me see the light at the end of the tunnle.

The motor mount issues are well documented, as are the battery failures and chain adjustment issues. Please read the tech areas and DS prep guide as all of these issues could have been addressed with a bit of homework/preparation. Did you purchase this bike new? If so was it from a dealer? If it was a dealer bike, then all of these should be covered. If you bought the bike used or received it in a crate, then these are things you need to check before riding. Any bike will fail if it's not prepped properly..

Proper prep is important but on our bikes didnt correct the serious flaws built into the bikes.

First off I had the engine bolts pop just like yours and that was with simple back road/dirt road riding.
(no excuse for this it just shouldnt have happened)

Second we have went through several batteries in both our bikes.
(my simple theory and research and mods seems to have cured this as well)

First the loose engine can and must be fixed I think I may have been the first to do it and actually had a few people say I shouldnt have at first.

The loose engine can be fixed and if left undone will cause severe damage and possible injury when the chain gets so loose it piles into you engine case.
(bad scene at 50mph or so on the road)

Our batteries were located about ohh a 1/2" or so above the exhuast header and muffler pipe right where the pipe clamp is.The heat right there was intense and my research on the battery manufactures sites suggested the batteries were just getting cooked.

I relocated them on both bikes and they have been fine ever since.
A heat tape wrap would probably do the exact same thing and be much easier for someone who doesnt want to relocate and weld in new battery brackets.

AHH the light at the end of the tunnel is that after some tinkering/work you can have a bike that can take some serious punishment and I mean a serious pounding and come out just fine.

All the mods and knowledge you need to get your bike rock solid is in the forums on this site.

(Although I recently seen a site that had all the same info as their own but oddly familar like they got it from here)

Is this 'loose engine' phenom a Lifan GY-5 prob? or common to all the GY200 type bikes? Waldo's motor seems tied down pretty darned securely as far as i can tell.

Word of Caution - DO NOT over tighten the chain - and these bikes need more slack than most (hence my tensioner mod) due to the relationship of the swinging arm pivot to the drive sprocket.
The info supplied with the bike if followed will result in a too tight chain which can contribute to all sorts of problems - chain wear. chain breakage, worn bearings and possibly snapped swinging arm pivot bolts etc.

I would say no. Some bikes may have been better than others.

I rebolted. Made a huge improvement in vibes. I lost a lower rear mounting bolt about 35 miles from home in Atlanta traffic. I rode it all the way home and did the rebolt the next day. It took me about an hour and I spent about $15 for supplies. Included a new drill bit. I was unable to find a replacement long mounting bolt, but I replaced all the others.
