CDI Help...I looked all over...
Hey everyone, I looked all over for the answer to this question and I have no luck. I want to buy a performance CDI and coil for my bike. The bike is running rough at idle, shuts off often, even after riding for 20 mins. The coil looks to be wore, and I have herd the CDI is crap on these bikes.
It is a Diamo LS200...looks just like the roketa DB-07 200cc...motor numbers are ZS169FML will these work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=150585270996 the ebay page says it is a AC fired CDI, is mine AC or DC? |

Did you get a wiring diagram with your bike? If so, the wiring diagram will tell you whether you have an AC, or DC, CDI unit.

You need to check the wiring diagram for your motorcycle to be sure you are getting the correct CDI unit. The 6-pin CDI units come in both flavors: AC, and DC.

oh...if you look in the sellers other items, he sells the cdi seperatly, and he says its an AC fired one. I bought the bike used, so i do not have an wiring diagram. Would the diagram be for the bike or motor type?

mine is just slightly smaller than the one being sold in width..however in lenght it is the same...if it put the wrong cdi on my bike, will it damage my bike, or just not start? possibly damage the cdi? I am willing to buy both if a solution is not found.

let me know what you think of this...basically he is saying, start the bike, remove the battery and if it runs still, its ac fired...if it doesnts, then it is dc fired...also, he mentions size, and wires and show the diferences in the wiring diagrams...i could trace the wires and possibly find out. |

The Roketa DB-07 employs an AC CDI unit. The DB-07, CDI unit appears to be the same as the Ebay CDI unit in your link. http://www.motopartsmax.com/index.ph...2/cPath/117_14 http://www.chinariders.net/modules.p...asc&highlight= http://www.nationalonlinescooters.co...07-C.D.I..html http://forums.atvrideronline.com/70/...ing/index.html http://scootdawg.proboards.com/index...y&thread=38112 http://chinesescoots.forumwise.com/c...read12095.html http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=150585270996 It appears the eBay CDI unit will work for your bike, if your bike employs the same CDI unit as the Roketa DB-07. However, I hope WeldanGrind, or a Honda clone owner will drop by and confirm my suspicions. ![]() Spud ![]()

thanks spud, will do what website says and let you know what I come up with. Also...I think i might start a general knowldge manual for most chinese bikes. There are so many diferent types out there, and it is hard to determine which parts will work for which. With the knowledge of everyone here. I believe the manual won't be to hard to complie.

![]() Based upon the dimensions you listed for your CDI unit, I think you probably have an AC CDI unit. With your bike not running, and the ignition turned on, I suggest you unplug your CDI unit, and test to see if any of the wires leading to the CDI unit read 12 volts when referenced to ground. In particular, perform this test for the 2-plug connector. ![]() Then, if you wish, turn off the ignition, and plug the CDI unit back into the electrical system. Start the motorcycle, and unhook the positive lead from the battery. If the bike continues to run, you undoubtedly have an AC CDI unit. ![]() Thank you for your willingness to gather, and share knowledge with others. Your generous attitude is consistent with the qualities we wish to foster at these forums. ![]() Spud ![]()

ok, the cdi and coil will be in tomorrow morning, but cleaning the carb yesterday, i found a crack in the stock air boke, and fouind dirt in my carb bowl. I order a pod filter, but that will be a few more days to come in...so..im anxious about testing the new coil and cdi, but im thinking i better wait for a good filter to come. The crack in air box is between the filter and carb, so it is letting dirt right in there. I'll let ya know how it turns out.
