Cool concept, no question.

It has a ways to go, IMHO. The side mirrors look to be barely adequate for lane changes, and the folded wings don't allow for shoulder checks. I sure wouldn't want to tag one of those wing tips on a speed bump; they're pretty low.

I can appreciate the benefit of the car doors ahead of the wings, having crawled into tiny Cessnas before.

I wonder how hard it is to change a tire?

I've been following this vehicle for years, very interesting.

It would be however cheaper to buy a Ferrari and a Cessna. You'd save money on insurance, fuel, and maintenence as well. Plus the car and the plane would each be faster. :wink:

I respect the engineering, and I'd love to drive/fly one, but it simply is not 'practical' enough to fly.

This reminds me I have been wanting to research building a Sky Pup. I've always wanted to learn to fly.

Heh, I dunno if this is way over my head or I get it :P Pun intended lol. Jokes aside, what would you say someone would reasonably expect to pay to start taking flight lessons?

Ooh interesting(the sky pup), I was wondering what the legal requirements were for ultra-lights....

The flying car, to me I agree with doc about the lack of practicality, and I find that to be important.

I actually was just talking to one of my good friends about flying and he told me his grandfather has an ultralight and a runway out at his farm. Unfortunately he passed away a couple years ago but it's still in his family. We're going to inquire into it and try to get some info as to what it is and condition.

Many ultralights require no license to fly...as far as I know anyway. But you'd be stupid to without any training. <<<< That's me! Jk

Speaking of which....this guy's company was a client of mine, years ago. He's based in the Peoples Republic of Davis, just west of Sacramento on I-80. Same guy who started Super Trapp. He's been doing the flying car thing for quite a while. I was lucky enough to get to tour around the shop.
