electronics are dead
hello, hopefully you can help me with this...
bike was sitting for a couple weeks. now I have no lights, horn, starter, etc. ignition key seems to work and I can kick start it and drive it around. tried charging the battery for a couple hours. I could only find one fuse which is fine. any idea how to troubleshoot this? Thanks!

What's the battery voltage with the bike off?
CB's are known to have terrible batteries stock. May simply be dead.

not sure I'll try to find one.
what about if I have the battery charger hooked up and still nothing, shouldn't I still get some juice out of that?

Maybe not. If the battery is internally shorted due to sulfation it won't take a charge.
Also check your connections, the ground cable in particular.

this sucks, i have someone checking out the bike tomorrow and the electronics are dead. doesn't seem to be a loose connection. hopefully it's just the battery but the fact that I can't even get a weak horn or lights when the charger is connected to the +/- terminal concerns me. ground wire seems solid.

You said it runs if kick started? Do the lights work with it running?

Guys, thanks a lot for the ideas.
I finally figured it out... I took my dog out in the middle of the night, said a little prayer and turned on the igntion, jiggled the ground terminal connection and everything powered up. I def could sleep better last night with that resolved. Turns out that the ground battery connection was losing contact due to corrosion or whatever and the ignition switch is going a little wonky. The ignition switch is a concern, but at least I know what the issue is and it's generally functional. Fairly basic stuff, I just didn't put all the pieces together right away, and God helped me out a little there. This forum is the best!

So, you're saying that prayer did the trick?
