HelP! Vibrations..>

ok, so i'll bet everyone has vibrations in their bikes but mine is bad. i've had my license plate vibrate off and now i have a new one. since then i've used all the rubber washers and i think i got that under control.

next, the clear cover part to one of my blinkers is gone, and so is the thing for my license plate light.

also, i have a ton of little noises going on, my kickstarter vibrates loud, other little noises everywhere.

does anyone have any suggestions??

Use the search feature on vibrations, gorrilla glue, engine mount bolts.

There is many many pages to read, and if I typed it my hands would fall off and I couldn't ride anymore.

Not to mention the prep thread. That prep info prolly saved me a lot of lost parts....although mine hasn't been too buzzy. It's darn comfortable right now with full street tires vice knobbies and the atv seatcover.

The engine mounts are a huge problem with these bikes and I wonder just how many bikes will go out of service because of those.

I like to think of the engine as a four pound mini sledgehammer and when it is resting on something it does no damage but when you pick it up and slam it down it breaks stuff.
Kind of what happens with a loose engine, it just hammers the bike but a tightly bolted engine cant get much of a hit in.

I got tired of chasing the noises down and went right for the cause which is the loose engine and after that was fixed there were virtually no noises to even mess with.

so you just tightened the engine bolts and that is it? or did you replace them with other kinds of bolts, if so, what kind, just one that isn't chinese and that would fit?

Oh I changed all of our engine mount bolts out for grade 8's.(I may have been the first to do it)

There are many detailed posts on the "how and what" of changing the bolts.

on our bikes I had/wanted to redo the upper rear mount so it just uses a short bolt like the bottom rear mount does and that took some fabbing/welding but you can get by with doing all the other bolts.

Of the bikes on Craig's list and kijiji..... I've seen 1 phrase over and over lately.

"New Lower Price!"

The people toying with the idea of selling, are now starting to find out the real worth of their over price bikes. I guess no one is calling to get their $4000 Lifans.

I was getting bored watching the same bikes not sell, over and over. I bet that with the first snow fall, all bikes drop $1000. Can't wait.
