What grease? And, How long is your replacement chain?

Ok, I'm stuck in the frame of mind that once my 18C gets here, I'm taking things apart before it gets the initial assembly. My biggest worry is the bushings, primarily the swing arm and front axle. After reading about owners finding dry swing arm bushings and dusty dry front axles, I just NEED to get in there and see for my own two eyes and repack what I need to before that bike rolls 2 feet.

(This also gives me an excuse to tears down the tail section that comes factory installed and paint it)

What grease do you guys use on YOUR bikes in those applications, and why?

Bonus points for anyone who chimes in with the size/length of chain I'll need to replace the garbage being shipped on my 17T/47T Brozz.
